For the routine application of column leaching tests on mineral and organic substances, ecoTech Umwelt-Meßsysteme GmbH, based in Bonn, together with the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) in Berlin, has developed the  Automatische Säulenperkolationsanlage (ASPA).

This system conducts highly time-consuming routine examinations on construction materials, recycling materials, and soils completely autonomously, independent of laboratory working hours, while meeting modern ergonomic and technical work requirements. While fully complying with the Mantelverordnung requirements that came into effect in August 2023

Compliance with Mantelverordnung & Ersatzbaustoffverordnung:

The ASPA is built to meet the latest regulatory standards, ensuring that your tests adhere to the Mantelverordnung and Ersatzbaustoffverordnung (EBV) requirements effortlessly.

Preprogrammed Tests:

The ASPA includes preprogrammed tests for the German DIN 19528:2023 (Leaching of solid materials - Percolation method for the joint examination of the leaching behaviour of inorganic and organic substances), as well as CEN/TS 14405 (Characterisation of waste) and EN 16637-3:2021 (Construction products - Assessment of release of dangerous substances - Part 3: Horizontal up-flow percolation test) standards. Users can easily input the characteristics of their samples, including all relevant information needed for comprehensive reporting. When testing under the DIN 19528 standard, choose from Ausführlicher Säulenversuchs Test (grundlegende Charakterisierung), Säulenkurztests (Übereinstimmungsuntersuchung), or Blindtest (Verifizierungsprüfung vor Ort), and let the ASPA handle the rest.

User-Defined Tests:

Perfect for research, the ASPA allows for user-defined tests with a much broader and freer selection of parameters, offering unparalleled flexibility for customised testing protocols.

Eluate Volume Monitoring:

During and post-testing, simply enter the eluate volume to verify if the expected output matches your calculations, providing an extra layer of accuracy and reliability.

Comprehensive Data Management:

The ASPA simplifies importing and exporting test data, allowing you to reproduce tests, access test history, and ensure traceability. Export your test reports in PDF or Excel formats, including detailed information such as environmental variables, equipment characteristics, notes, and checklists to ensure a problem-free test and to fulfill the reporting requirements under the Mantelverordnung.

High-Performance Membrane Pump:

Ensuring a constant flow rate throughout the entire test, the high-performance membrane pump guarantees the accuracy and reliability of your results.

Consistent Flow Rate: The membrane/diaphragm dosing pump maintains a constant and reliable flow rate throughout the entire test, unlike a peristaltic pump where the tubing stretches over time, causing variations in the flow rate.

Constant Pressure: Our pump is equipped with a pressure control valve, ensuring that it pumps with constant pressure, further enhancing the reliability of your test results.

 Modular Design:

The ASPA is modularly built and can currently support up to four columns (available in 50 mm, 65 mm, or 100 mm diameters) and collect as standard either 4 or 7 fractions, providing flexibility and scalability to meet your testing needs.
