Experimental design (Concept: SUBSOM)

  • Field experiment with observation well, depth 2 m, 1,6 m
  • Leachate with multi-segment suction plates
  • Spatial acquisition and quantification of finger and macropore flow
  • Soil water extraction with glass suction cups (DOC; DIC)
  • Horizontal installation into undisturbed soil
  • Measuring depths of 10, 50 & 150 cm
  • Soil gas sampling using Teflon filters (permanent installation)
